BATTER UP

Batter Up was a blog, a social experiment, and a movement to encourage people to slow down, make homemade food, and share it with family, friends, colleagues, and yes, even strangers. Starting on July 1, 2013, I committed to baking a cake every week for a year. I then delivered those cakes to unsuspecting people who were doing something in the community that had some sort of positive social impact. The identities of the deserving cake recipients were a secret until the moment of delivery and I encouraged people to nominate members of the community who deserved recognition by receiving a cake. After the delivery I blogged about the recipient in order to shed some light on our unsung hero neighbors and highlight who’s doing what in our community.  Check out the website or Facebook page.
